Food Options for Busy Dieters

posted by Tanya R in January 18th, 2008

For many dieters, losing weight is not very easy. Even with the best of intentions, many people lack the time and discipline it takes to modify their diet to encourage healthy weight loss. With today’s hectic lifestyles, who really has time to cook — let alone measure and count calories?

Purchasing Pre Packaged Frozen Foods

I know some people who have actually resorted to purchasing pre-packaged frozen diet foods such as lean cuisine or weight watchers to help them shed a few pounds, but is this an effective way to lose weight?

Some say yes, some say no.

Some people feel that the low calorie, low fat, and small portions frozen foods offer help them stay on course with their diet plans. Skeptics, on the other hand, are afraid that the portions are too small…and their hunger will sabotage their weight loss efforts.

It’s all about what you eat that makes the difference.

Purchasing pre packaged foods can help you stay on track, but you have to be careful what foods you buy. You want to pick meals that are low in sodium, saturated fats, and chemicals.

Food delivery services

Many folks have found the convince of food delivery services. For example, The Chefs Diet is the largest and most popular Zone diet food delivery service currently on the market. It is a healthy and convenient way to shed a few pounds.

The Chefs Diet is based first and foremost on the idea that your food should be appealing. Unlike many trend diets, the Chefs Diet isn’t a high cab diet or a high protein diet or any of that stuff that makes diets so hard to stick with. Instead, the Chefs Diet is a balanced diet, which has a balanced proportion of protein and “good fats” and a slightly higher proportion of carbs.

The Chefs Diet is more valuable than pre-packaged meals from the grocery store because of variety, quality, and freshness. The service offers Zone diet approved meal plans, kosher diets, kids diets, glycemic index diets, and more. Chefs Diet is a great gourmet meal delivery program for anyone who does not want to spend money on any groceries or eating out and it is a service that helps busy dieters stay on track.

Are You Sabotaging Your Weight Loss Efforts?

posted by Tanya R in January 11th, 2008

Most people begin their weight loss and diet program with the best of intentions. However, despite good intentions, a majority of dieters fail.

Why do most dieters fail? It’s not due to little slip ups here and there. Not because of an extra piece of pie or enjoying a night out on the town. Their failure is due to 3 common mistakes people make over and over again.

1. ‘All Or Nothing’ Attitude

All or nothing dieters will often pick out a complicated diet that is almost impossible for them to maintain. They are planning to be the perfect dieter, and so they will be, for one day, three days, seven days or even a couple of weeks. Then, inevitably, something happens that means they cannot keep to the diet one time. Immediately the whole thing is ruined in their eyes and the diet is over and go back to life as usual.

2. Self Deprivation

Another common mistake is to view your diet as a period of deprivation. You do not allow yourself the foods that you enjoy most while you are on your way to your target weight. You may have a great diet plan and be very successful in losing weight, but what happens when you reach your goal? It is better to include a little of everything in your diet and learn to enjoy it in small quantities. Yes, even chocolate!

3. Failing to Set Goals

Setting achievable goals is vital in any weight loss plan. Goals should be clear, realistic and set out in writing.
